Long Beach Sigma Pearls Foundation, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, was established in 2010 by the Gamma Tau Sigma Alumnae Chapter of Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Incorporated.  We strive to establish and support public service projects, along with maintaining and enhancing existing academic and social programs geared toward our youth to expand their knowledge base, provide life skill training and financial literacy. As we service the Long Beach and surrounding areas, our core foci are education, scholarship, social action, and wellness.

There is no passion to be found playing small - in settling for a life that is less than the one you are capable of living.

- Nelson Mandela

Our Mission

The mission of the Long Beach Sigma Pearls Foundation is to develop our youth with positive influences and support for higher education.  We accomplish this goal by providing educational experiences, enrichment opportunities, and resources to the community that will lay the foundation for healthier lifestyles and affect positive change in mental, physical, and financial health and well-being.  We encourage and support youth to reach their maximum potential through a quality education which we believe can change the trajectory of their lives. We believe that we have an obligation to be of service to those who are in need.  We believe the cost of college should not prevent our youth the opportunity to attend. We believe education can stretch an individual’s mind, open the door to opportunity, and have that opportunity open the door to an endless tomorrow.

Our Vision

The Long Beach Sigma Pearls Foundation envisions establishing a scholarship endowment fund to support worthy and deserving scholars. The Foundation seeks to develop a network of scholars/participants who will return to reciprocate those same skills in future generations in areas such as: leadership, civic engagement, community service, high scholastic achievement and philanthropy.  The Foundation seeks to broaden its scope of scholarship support to include entrepreneurial trades and careers.
